LEPANAM
Service Description
Lepanam is a specialized Ayurvedic treatment involving the application of a thick, medicated herbal paste to a specific part of the body. Unlike generalized massages, Lepanam is a highly focused therapy designed to address localized issues by utilizing the osmotic power of herbs to penetrate deep into the skin and underlying tissues. The Therapeutic Process The effectiveness of Lepanam lies in the freshness of the ingredients and the precision of the application. Custom Formulation: The paste is prepared by grinding dry herbs with liquids such as water, milk, herbal decoctions, or oils, depending on the nature of the condition. The Application: A therapist applies a thick, even layer of the warm or room-temperature paste (usually 0.5 to 1 cm thick) over the "affected part." The Interaction: The paste is left on the skin until it begins to dry (typically 30 to 45 minutes). As it interacts with the body heat, the medicinal properties are absorbed, and the paste acts as a "suction" to pull out inflammatory fluids and heat. Removal: Once the therapeutic window is complete, the paste is carefully removed, often followed by a gentle wash with warm herbal water. Clinical Benefits Lepanam is a versatile "spot-treatment" used for both clinical and aesthetic purposes: Anti-Inflammatory Action: It is exceptionally useful for various types of inflammatory conditions, such as gout, localized arthritis, and joint swelling. Pain Management: Provides rapid relief for localized muscle injuries, sprains, and tendonitis by cooling the "Pitha" (heat) in the affected area. Skin Health: When applied to the face or body, it treats various skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, and acne. It helps in purifying the blood locally and improving skin complexion. Wound & Ulcer Healing: Specific formulations of Lepanam are used to accelerate the healing of non-healing ulcers and to reduce the appearance of scars.
