SIROVASTHI

Service Description

Shirovasti is a profound Ayurvedic treatment where medicated oil is held in a "reservoir" over the head. By allowing the scalp to remain submerged in a pool of warm, herb-infused oil, the treatment facilitates deep absorption into the cranial nerves and the brain’s sensory centers, offering unparalleled relief for complex neurological and psychological conditions. The Specialized Procedure The hallmark of Shirovasti is the use of a tall, open-topped leather or silken cylindrical cap. Preparation: The cap is securely fitted around the head and sealed at the hairline using a special paste made of black gram flour to ensure it is completely leak-proof. The Oil Pool: Prescribed lukewarm herbal oils are gently poured into the cap until they cover the crown of the head. The Immersion: The oil is retained for 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the individual’s constitution and the specific condition being treated. This allows the medicinal properties to permeate the skull and nourish the nervous system at a fundamental level. Targeted Health Benefits Shirovasti is a highly effective clinical therapy, traditionally recommended for a variety of head and neck-related ailments: Neurological Disorders: Highly beneficial for facial paralysis (Bell's Palsy), tremors, and various degenerative conditions of the nervous system. Sensory Enhancement: Helps in treating disorders related to the eyes, ears, and nose, including tinnitus and certain vision imbalances. Mental Wellness: Provides deep relief for chronic headaches, migraines, severe insomnia, and high levels of psychological stress or "burnout." Scalp & Hair Vitality: Traditionally used to address premature greying, hair loss, and chronic dryness of the scalp by nourishing the roots from within.
