THALAM
Service Description
Thalam is a specialized Ayurvedic treatment where a medicinal paste, formed by mixing potent herbal powders with medicated oils, is applied to the vertex (the center of the crown) of the head. This area is considered a vital energy point in Ayurveda, acting as a cooling station for the entire nervous system and the sensory organs. The Procedure The treatment is quick to administer but offers deep, long-lasting relief. The Paste Preparation: A specific herbal powder (often Rasnadi Churna or other cooling herbs) is mixed with a prescribed medicated oil to form a thick, potent paste. The Application: The paste is applied in a small, concentrated layer on the top of the head. In some cases, a small well is formed within the paste to hold a few drops of additional oil. The Duration: The paste is retained for 20 to 45 minutes. This allows the medicinal properties to be absorbed through the scalp, directly influencing the "coolness" of the brain and the sensory pathways. Completion: The paste is gently wiped away, often followed by a light application of Rasnadi powder to prevent any congestion. Therapeutic Benefits Thalam is a versatile treatment particularly effective for "head-heavy" conditions and modern lifestyle stressors. ENT Health: It is a highly regarded remedy for ENT problems, including chronic sinusitis, nasal congestion, and certain ear imbalances, by balancing the moisture levels in the cranial cavities. Sleep & Stress Management: By cooling the "heated" nervous system, Thalam is exceptionally helpful for insomnia, reducing mental agitation and promoting a deep, restful sleep. Migraine & Headache Relief: Provides a soothing, pressure-relieving effect that helps manage migraines and tension-type headaches. Vision & Sensory Support: Helps in cooling the eyes and sharpening the senses, making it ideal for those who suffer from sensory overload or fatigue.
